Brief assessment of a president of the Jury 2024 Composition Competition, Young-Jo Lee

This year, we once again experienced choral music of a high standard. The compositions, imbued with a modern sensibility and reverence for nature and the divine, were profound and serious.

At the same time, the efficient musical progression, sense of balance, and contrasting diversity within a single piece always await greater challenges from the composers.

We extend our gratitude to the composers for submitting their excellent works.

Thank you to all the new composers who submitted their works to the 10th Busan Choral Festival Composition Competition.

This year, 43 works from 43 composers across 21 countries participated in the competition.

The winners of the first, second, and third places will be awarded Diplomas and Trophies, which will be sent to them by post.

Please note that the prize money will be transferred via bank account within two weeks after the closing of the festival.

Only the winning composition of the top prize will be performed at the Award ceremony on Saturday, October 26.
